blue staffordshire terriers rare?
ive noticed that blue staffys are much more expensive then say black or brindle... im just wondering why this is?
is it because they are rare? or do they do better as show dogs?

It is not a rare color. But yes, they DO cost more. Because irresponsible BYB play them off as a "rare" color. Probably because very few other breeds display the striking coloring of blue pit bulls. They are VERY beautiful, and probably not as common as fawn or red staffys, but by no means are they rare.
The blue is just a coloration. It does not affect their body type. Blue staffys do no better in shows then red staffys. Like I said, its irresponsible BYBs out to make more money. A RESPONSIBLE breeder would never charge you more for a common coloration, only superior body type. Most "rare" colorations do not fit breed standards, and although these dogs are rare, should not cost more.
EDIT: I don't believe I ever said responsible breeders charge more for rare colorings. I believe I said that IRRESPONSIBLE breeders charge more for "rare" colorings to gain money. The person who claims people don't charge more for blue pits is the same person that is saying I dont know what Im talking about? Not only that, but this from the person who copys and pastes most of their answers from a how to website. And I dont know what Im talking about? HMMM...
