A team of scientists has tracked down a genetic mutation that leads to blue eyes. The mutation occurred between 6,000 and 10,000 years ago. Before then, there were no blue eyes.
"Originally, we all had brown eyes," said Hans Eiberg from the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Copenhagen.
Okay, so what in nature could have caused a genetic mutation to turn BROWN eyes into BLUE eyes? As white people migrated they encountered indigenous people with brown eyes. So it can't be environmental factors or those indigenous people would have already had blue eyes.
I believe blue eyes were genetically MANIPULATED. It was not a natural MUTATION.
So give me a plausible explanation of how BROWN eyes mutated into BLUE eyes given that no indigenous people had blue eyes?
The brown-eyed gene could have changed by a stray cosmic ray, some ingested alpha-emitting substance (such as uranium), several other mutagenic chemicals (naturally occurring), etc. causing the mutation in the gene.
It probably happened several times over the hundreds of thousands of years of people. The Copenhagen people are probably wrong that it first happened 10,000 years ago.
Since it is a recessive gene, it would be persistent in a gene pool. Since many people view blue eyes as "pretty," it could be socially selected for. (Blue eyed babes more likely to have babies).
Saying it was genetically manipulated adds an extra level of complication (by whom? why?) that is not necessary.
This clever pendant boasts a spherical shade constructed from layers of concentric circular vinyl sheets. Its blue shade and polished steel finish play off each other handsomely.

Do you think Michael Mann's stolen email explanations are reasonable?
Michael Mann has explained the context of some of the "controversial" stolen emails he wrote. Scroll down to the numbered email statements and explanations here:
Note I'm not asking whether you believe his explanations or what you think of Michael Mann. I'm only asking if you think his explanations of the intent behind his emails are reasonable.
After all, he's the one who wrote the emails. We can assume what the emails meant until we're blue in the face, but only Mann knows the true meaning of his own words.
Put aside your biases and personal opinions for a minute, if you're capable of that, read his explanation with an open mind, and answer the question - are they reasonable explanations?
No one knows the context except Dr. Michael Mann, and unless there is proof that his explanation is a lie, it must be taken as truth (unless one happens to be a denier).
