Japan China

How did geography affect the way people live in China and Japan?
Also, how did geography affect the development of China and Japan?
China was always a large country comparable in size to the U.S. It has vast differences in topography and climate. It has always suffered from natural disasters like flood and famine as well as earthquakes. The Yellow and Yang's Rivers define the land. These Rivers have often flooded causing untold misery. Japan also suffers from natural disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis. Japan is a smaller land being smaller than California. It consists of 4 main islands with a limited area that can be farmed. Japan is made up of rivers and mountains. So the Japanese have been more prone to colonies other countries, like their expedition in Korea in the 17th century. The fact that they are an island people encourages them to look to the sea. Most of their diet is made up of fish and shellfish. And their land is suited for the cultivation of rice and tea. Also because they are separated from the mainland of Asia by the treacherous Sea of Japan their country was easier to defend. This was a very different situation from China which was always open to foreign invasion. It was inevitable that Japan would one day become a naval power especially since Japan had few natural resources. I hope this will help you

Jiawu China Japan War $101.96 The Jiw ChinaJapan War (1 August 1894 17 April 1895) was a war fought between Qing Dynasty China and Meiji Japan over control of Korea. The SinoJapanese War would come to symbolize the degeneration and enfeeblement of the Qing Dynasty and demonstrate how successful modernization attempts had been in Japan since the Meiji Restoration, as compared with the SelfStrengthening Movement in China. The principal results of the war were a shift in regional dominance in Asia from China to Japan. These trends would later manifest in the 1911 Revolution, which brought an end to the Qing Dynasty and the dominance of the Chinese classical tradition. The Dragon in China and Japan $45.49 Little is known of Dutch author MARINUS WILLEM DE VISSER (18761930) beyond his academic life as a classicist with an interest in Chinese and Japanese language and culture, and as a popularizer of Japanese art in the Netherlands. He is best remembered today for having given us a cornerstone examination of the legends of fantastic flying reptiles known as dragons. The Dragon in China and Japan contains the most interesting quotations concerning the dragon in China, systematically arranged, selected from the enormous number of passages on this fantastic animal in Chinese literature, from the remotest eras down to modern times, notes cryptozoologist Loren Coleman in his new introduction. Coleman also praises the books use of primary source material. If cryptozoologists are to study the Asian dragons of India, China, and Japan, it must not be done through the screen of todays New Age mentality. Scholarly, levelheaded examinations of living, breathing reports of serpentine flying beasts, waterborne megafauna, and shadowy entities must be balanced with investigations of the legends and folktales of these dragons from Asian texts, such as de Vissers here. This new edition, a replica of the 1913 first edition complete with extensive notes in the original Asian alphabet, is part of Cosimos Loren Coleman Presents series. LOREN COLEMAN is author of numerous books of cryptozoology, including Bigfoot : The True Story of Apes in America and Mothman and Other Curious Encounters. Author: De Visser, M. W./ Coleman, Loren Binding Type: Hardcover Number of Pages: 258 Publication Date: 2008/12/01 Language: English Dimensions: 5.51 x 8.50 x 0.74 inches |

Japan and China: Cooperation, Competition and Conflict $218.26 The flow of goods, capital technology and organizational knowhow between Japan and China has increased dramatically, yet the relationship between the two countries remains far below its potential scope. The differing economic structures of the two countries, the mutual political distrust and the burden of an unsettled historical past stand in the way of a more intensive economic integration. This book combines up to date research from the German Institute for Japanese Studies (DIJ) with papers from a conference organized jointly with the Fujitsu Research Institute (FRI) and is an essential tool for academics and those doing business in East Asia. Author: Hilpert, Hanns Gunther/ Haak, Rene/ Gurian, Michael Binding Type: Hardcover Number of Pages: 233 Publication Date: 2002/09/06 Language: English Dimensions: 8.34 x 6.22 x 0.70 inches |

Japan-China history research team releases report
what brands of tools do mechanics in china and japan and similar places use?
in america we have craftsman, snap-on and the like. if you buy cheap tools made in china or japan they're low quality and depending on what you buy you get little use out of it before it breaks. cheap hand tools like wrenches and ratchets are okay but they still don't hold up compared to more expensive brands.
my question is what what do mechanics in china and japan and similar places use? they can't be using the same cheap tools that they export to us.
Yeah, I live in Japan and see the Snap-on truck cruising around once in a while. I'm sure they use some other brand too, but I've never taken a close look.
My Name is Joanna and I love Old China Patterns and sharing information with others on where to obtain those "hard to find" gems or replacements for your collection. Thanks for visiting my website!

Achutha“I also don’t understand how pakistan can have better relations with India without accepting its regional dominance.”You appear to be confused. Your assumption is that only the trade relations lead to better relations.I look at trade relations as the last elements in relations between the two neighboring countries. From your list only the US and Canada are the two neighboring countries that share similar cultural background and after 1812(the last war between the US and Canada, I assume.), they have been able to maintain cordial relations and have developed trade relations too. On the other hand, we have Japan-China relations, China and Vietnam and South Korea relations, India and China relations, off and on India and Bangladesh relations. We also have Turkey and Greece relations. In most of these cases, the relations are not what they could be, despite several cultural similarities.“a south asian economic zone with a dominant india but with prospering countries around it is not possible or not desirable? It hurts the pakistan soul, but would it hurt the pakistani state?”Dominance, real or not, is an issue it may not appear real to you but Pakistani business and Pakistan establishment also considers that a serious matter. Let us say if India wants to eliminate dominance in relations with Pakistan what, in your opinion, can India do to achieve that goal?Let me also ask you this: what do you think are the three things priority wise that India can do to improve relations with Pakistan? I am pretty much aware of what you think Pakistan can do to improve relations, I am interested in finding out what India can do to improve relations.Since it appears to me that you advocate that better trade relations lead to better overall relations, I am tempted to ask: Can you prioritize three things that will help Pakistan in developing mutually beneficial trade relations with India? Thanks.HayyerJanuary 17, 2010 at 10:44 pm“I was not at all comparing India with China-My point was merely that trade does not imply a proxy relationship.”Developing India and US relations are not just trade relations. The developing military relations coupled with India’s almost secondary position in trading, adds to the thinking that India will act as the US proxy. Like Pakistan for years did. It was Pakistan’s dependence on the US military supplies and economic support that led to Pakistan becoming a proxy state for the US military interest during the cold war. “I asked why India and Pakistan could not be friends if these two causes did not obtrude into the relationship, unless the premise is that India and Pakistan cannot be friends in principle.”Pakistan shares a common cultural heritage with India and that provides a strong platform for better relations but the same heritage also provides major stumbling blocks too. Often the negatives take over the positives. Though at present I don’t think that the Kashmir is a major stumbling block but the narrative developed around Kashmir will perpetuate. We have to somehow develop a narrative that can find a way between the competitive strategic interests that collide. Briefly, India wants to be a regional power and India does not hide it. Pak sees that as a threat and India fails to provide any reason to ease that threat.I will try and finish my article on Kashmir soon.
