Saucer Flowers
What is the name of the bulb when flowers the flower smells of urine?
I bought a bulb from a garden show and it can just be grown by placing it in a saucer of water. It throws up a tall shoot. The base then fills out and then part of the shoot unfolds into a pretty speckled petal but it smells very strongly of urine. the flower only lasts a day. What is it called please

Japanese Magnolias--magnificent trees for garden landscaping
Hyacinth bulbs keep rotting?
Hyacinths are my favorite flowers,so i thought i'd grow some to put in my room. I have 3 bulbs to white and one Pink, There meant to grow for Christmas time.
But they went moldy last week. So i moved them into some fresh soil. But now i'm stuck. Whenever i water them they always go moldy? I don't get it. I could pour the water into the saucer tray thing, but the roots won't be long enough.
What should i do?

I use the soil-less method. I put them in a hyacinth glass with water only about half way up the bulb. They will form a flower with the roots dangling in the water. Change the water every few days. Don't use tap water as it may contain chlorine. Use distilled water or leave the tap water standing in an open container overnight. The chlorine will dissipate. You still have time to start fresh bulbs for Christmas time.
