How to refinish the porcelain in my claw foot tub?
Something ate the porcelain finish off the inside of my tub in several spots. I would like to repair it but don't know how to go about it.
Well Joyce, We have a clawfoot tub also. The porcelin has gotten to be in pretty bad shape so I was going to use a kit to repaint it. I purchased a kit at Home Depot and when the wife was gone a few weeks ago, I was determined to go at it.
I read the instructions and started the prework, cleaning three times etc. etc. Then one night I saw on this very web site where a gentleman asked the question if anyone had worked with this very product I was about to apply. It is Magic ReNew. I linked to the question he asked below. After reading of his problems, I was skeptical.
I called a couple of professional tub refinishers in my local area and talked with them. One was most helpful. He was aware of the product I was contemplating putting on. He did not try to talk me out of it, but did say, if the tub was already sprayed with this product, he will have to charge an additonal $100 to remove it. He wanted $400 to do his refinishing process.
The kit says you must clean the tub three times with TSP and then use 0000 steel wool before painting. As I was cleaning with the TSP, the tub came out looking much better with just the good cleaning. Not as good as a new spray job, but much better. Mr. Pro also said the kits usually only last 12 to 18 months.
Well, I took the kit back and am considering having Mr. local Pro do our tub. I figured for the extra $100 to remove the kit spray, and then to only get 1 - 1 1/2 years out of the finish before it needed to be done again, it was not worth it.

please don't criticize me. I just quit smoking weed. I only did it 4 or 5 times but it was over consuming my life. So I bought this salvia leaf. It's not the extract, just the leaf. I've taken around 4 hits of stuffing some leaves in the bowl. It tastes really bad and it did absolutely nothing. I tried twice more and still nothing. does anyone know how to trigger the acid trip? Salvia doesnt give you an acid trip. Acid gives you an acid trip.
Anyway use a bong. Take as big a hit as you can, and hold it as long as possible. Salvia trips are very short and tend to creep up on you. As for leaf dosage, Im not sure as Ive only smoked extracts, but ten seconds on google should help you out there.
Also if youve only smoked weed 4 or 5 times, you never had a real habit, so saying you `quit smoking weed` isnt very accurate. And how the fuck did it consume your life after so few times? You sound very inexperienced. I dont think you should do salvia without a more extensive background smoking weed, IMO. Building more experience with bud will prepare you better for a real psychedelic experience...Id also recommend shrooms over salvia.

Shell Bowl What happens if you bake a pumpkin that has had it's guts carved out, leaving just the shell?

Baking softens up the flesh of the pumpking, making it easier to scoop out and you then don't have to mash it. You also don't have to peel the rind of as you would if you're going to boil the pumpkin. You can either bake it rind side up (so that the flesh is facing the backing pan) or rind side down, either way it doesn't really collapse. Rind side down will sag in a little, but you can also add a little butter to the pumpkin this way when you bake it. Keep in mind that either way once baked it's going to be soft and more fragile than when raw. The rind becomes easier to tear as you're scooping the flesh out and once empty it's not difficult to puch your finger through.
